York County Moss Justice Center: Project Spotlight

Heritage Signs & Displays recently created and installed new adhesive vinyl graphics and custom wall displays in the interior of the Moss Justice Center of the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in York, South Carolina. Our team of sign installation experts highlighted the accomplishments of York County staff members, the “Making Good Choices” Calendar Art Contest Winners, the Memorial Wall, and the Marvin R. Brown Award Wall.

The York County Sheriff’s Office was first established in York County, South Carolina in 1786 and has accumulated centuries of service through the brave men and women who have protected communities such as Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and Tega Cay. Heritage Signs & Displays had previously installed a timeline display highlighting the proud history of the York County Sheriff’s Office and were eager to work with this remarkable office once again on the custom signage requests for the Moss Justice Center.

There were several components of the custom signs that our talented team created for the Moss Justice Center. Four sections of the facility had new signage requested:

  • “Making Good Choices” Calendar Art Contest Winners
  • Career Achievements
  • Memorial Wall
  • Marvin R. Brown Award Wall

These displays were created using a combination of elements to achieve one-of-a-kind signs that highlighted the achievements of the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office staff past and present.

“Making Good Choices” Calendar Art Contest Winners

Since 2008, the juvenile division of 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office began the “Making Good Choices” calendar art contest devoted to preventing drug use, alcohol abuse, and violence in young people. Every year, the calendar art is selected from hundreds of art submissions from students in York and Union counties. The winners are proudly displayed within the Moss Justice Center with the new display fabricated by our talented sign installation team.

The calendar art contest winners display was made from a UV printed Mojave wall wraps, dimensional lettering made from 6mm brushed silver, and 28 swappable picture panels on magnetic acrylic holders. These elements allowed for the display to endure over time and be continually updated as new contest winners get announced as the years progress.

Career Achievements

The staff at the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office has achieved decades of loyal service, which was to be highlighted in a custom display featuring longstanding staff members, their job titles, and their years served. This custom wall display was made from a vinyl wall wrap with dimensional brushed silver lettering and brushed silver plaques securely affixed to the wall. Additional space was left on the display for future featured career achievers to be added in the future.

Memorial Wall

Because the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office has existed for so long, distinguished staff members have passed on and deserve to be remembered. A dedicated Memorial Wall was created out of brushed silver dimensional lettering and 2nd surface ¼” thick printed acrylic to one of the interior walls to highlight five staff members who passed away. The words “No longer by our side, forever in our hearts” were installed above their portraits to honor their memory.

Marvin R. Brown Award Wall

Finally, a new custom interior sign highlighting the prestigious Marvin R. Brown Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement was fabricated and installed in the Moss Justice Center’s interior. The display was created from a background wall wrap, brushed silver dimensional lettering, standoff mounted acrylic, and acrylic-printed photos featuring Marvin Brown and an empty space for the current year recipient to be added later.

The Results of the Installation

After the Heritage Printing, Signs & Displays team had completed the new custom displays for the Moss Justice Center, a representative from the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said, “The installations look amazing! Everyone is so pleased with how they look. Truly. I am in awe of your work and your team. I can’t say enough wonderful things about you all. What a gift it was to find you!” We’re thankful for such amazing feedback from our collaborators in this custom signage endeavor and we look forward to more additions to the Moss Justice Center and other areas of the York County Sheriff’s Office in the future.
